Hip flexor dynamic stretch
Today, we want to show you a dynamic mobility exercise to stretch your hip flexor. All that you need is a bench or something similar that is under your kneecap and your goalie kneepads.
How to do it?
- Starting point:
- Stand with your back to the bench
- Put your angle of one foot and the edge of the bench and place your knee on the ground
- Your upper thigh should be in a vertical position
- The other foot is placed in front of you in a 90 degree angle
- The whole sole touches the ground
- Turn on your core – tension – the back has to be straight
- Tighten the butt and push it forward that upper thigh, hip and core in a neutral position
- Place your hands on the knee in front of you
- Movement:
- Slowly start oscillating
- Move your front knee a few centimetres backwards and forward
Summary
This is a very nice dynamic stretch for the hip flexor and can be used as cool down, or for longer mobility sessions or warm ups. We recommend longer stretches means a slower oscillation for the cool down session.
