Catch me crosswise if you can
There are so many drills we can do in our free time to improve our hand-eye coordination. As we do not always have a team mate who likes to train with us, we want to show you one hand-eye coordination exercise which you can do alone.
Catch me crosswise if you can is one of the easier hand-eye coordination drills and a good exercise to get familiar with the ball before a games starts. We always do short drills with the ball to get familiar with “our friend” - the ball - before the real warm up starts.
How to do it?
- Starting point
- Put one ball in each hand
- Outstretch your arms shoulder-width apart
- Hold the balls downwards – palm points to the floor
- Exercise
- Let the balls fall at the same time – just open your palm
- Catch the balls with crossed arms
- Again and again and again :)
How to change the degree of difficulty:
- Start with crossed arms
- Vary the distance between your arms
- Change the upper arm - means if your left arm was above the other during the catch, it should be the right arm now
- Use heavier balls
- Use balls with a different size
